Each of our team has been appointed not only for their professional capability but also because they have a passion for working with people. This is a small team of dedicated professionals; if you have not met everyone on our team then we encourage you to make contact. Our job is to look after you and your needs.
I believe small businesses need just as much attention as big ones – they have compliance and tax issues that can be just as complex. And that is just working with the day to day.
I have many years’ experience working with small and medium size business owners. I enjoy working through and helping to solve the challenges they face and growing healthy successful businesses no matter how big or small the client is.
Outside of the office, I can be seen running around after my family and riding around the hills on my mountain bike.
After spending several years learning from different Public Practice firms in the Wellington and Hutt Valley, becoming a Chartered Accountant along the way, I find myself at Munro Benge. I believe SME’s have much more to offer than backward looking tax and compliance. I enjoy working closely with my clients to help them look to the future.
I am a big fan of embracing cloud technology and using the efficiencies of integrated data to give you the ability to spend more time with family and friends.
When I’m not at work I can be found with my young family or doing something football related.
Having spent some time overseas, I’m now settled back into work life and looking forward to continuing gaining experience and knowledge here at Munro Benge. I have previous experience working in a small firm, where I enjoyed the relationship with clients. I enjoy working closely with clients and believe service is an important quality. In the weekends you will find me playing football, biking, tramping and trying to resurrect old cars.
I had some years with a large listed NZ company but found my niche in Munro Benge working closely with clients including SME’s, not for profit organisations, family trusts (including many as the independent trustee), in litigation support for relationship property matters and for some years on the Asia Pacific (three as chairperson) and the Worldwide Boards of BKR International. Having the opportunity to be a devil’s advocate is a role I also enjoy. After 39 years I stepped back at the end of December 2015 as a director / shareholder of Munro Benge, taking up a role as an independent consultant within the Company. I continue my work with some charities, especially as a Board member of the awesome Ronald McDonald House Charities New Zealand.
Reception / Office Assistant
Coming from a hospitality background, I found that I love working closely with people, making sure they are looked after and giving them an exceptional service.
At University I gained a Diploma in Fine Arts. It really aligns with my passion for art and viewing different art styles in museums here and around the world. Outside of work, I also love travelling and spending time with family and friends and pub quizzes.
I am a qualified Chartered Accountant with experience working in small to mid-sized firms in Wellington and the South Island. I have worked closely with clients, providing the professional services to suit their individual requirements, I look forward to continuing to do this at Munro Benge. Outside of work, I try to keep active playing tennis and golf and enjoy socialising with family and friends.
I am a qualified Chartered Accountant. Whilst working in a boutique firm, I gained experience with the preparation of financial statements (monthly and year end) and assisting with the resolution of taxation issues.
Working at Munro Benge has provided me with greater client responsibility, a supportive team and access to global resources. I can now expand the support I give to clients and work with them to explore ways we can improve the profitability of their business. I have a wife and two small children and outside of work I enjoy walking, kayaking and being involved with the community.
With a 25 year history of compliance and management accounting, based in Hawkes Bay, Waikato and Auckland city, the variety of work continues to widen and broaden my knowledge and experience. I also bring to the job practical skills and common sense gained from life experience, extensive travel and a love of literature.
I have over 15 year’s office administration experience in both public and private sectors. I am very passionate about business development and finding efficient ways to increase productivity. When not at work I enjoy spending time with family and friends and cruising the open road on my motorbike.
In order to deliver to clients an exceptional experience, you need a good team around you. Each staff member is charged with upholding the core values of the company with the goal to help our clients create enduring value in their business. I support this philosophy. My main strength is building good client relationships from experience gained over the years covering all areas of business. This includes Property Management, Construction, Body Corporates, Hospitality, Incorporated Societies and small start-up business.
As an experienced CA, I like to help people and businesses progress by offering advice and insight and fostering a relaxed and rewarding environment. Throughout my career, I have worked as a business advisory accountant for SME’s, accounting software consulting, corporate recovery and business development. Originally qualifying in the UK, I emigrated to the Waikato in 1999 where I ran my own accountancy practice until relocating to Wellington in 2013. In my spare time, I enjoy the variety of the capital city, relaxing with friends and family or out and about with something that has wheels.
I bring fifteen years of private practise experience in the UK to Munro Benge having emigrated to “Gods own” with my Medical Professional wife mid 2015. Prior to my own accountancy practise I had been an Accountant and Project Manager with a large dairy company in the UK and Ireland, a Commercial Analyst and an Internal Auditor for major UK PLC’s. My wife and I have three children the oldest two boys are at various University stages (Masters and Bachelors), our daughter is still at school here in NZ. We are outdoors people, we ski, sail, tramp, shoot, camp, ride motorbikes, play guitar, keep chickens and walk our two dogs. We are a loud boisterous family with a zest for life.
I came to chartered accounting from the business sector – both corporate and medium sized companies. For me the attraction of public practice is its great variety. The breadth of knowledge and experience required means that something different happens every day. I also have an interest in business and investment structures and planning. And this in turn feeds into my work in the non-profit sector – usually as a secretary, auditor, treasurer or chairman. In my spare time I enjoy reading, gardening and walking.
Business Support Administrator
Having completed a Bachelor in Tourism Management and after 8 years working in Hospitality I soon worked out Tourism was not the career path I wanted to take. I found myself enjoying the administration side of things and working behind the scenes. I have a passion for customer service and ensuring people are being looked after. This is expressed in my life outside of work too, always putting others ahead of myself. Outside of work I am either in the kitchen baking, partaking in a scouting event/activity or exploring our NZ backyard.
